We endeavour to share as much time and expertise as we are able, to support conversations we feel are important across our industry. In a recent example, our CTO was asked to take part in a Cyber Security Summit in London, to discuss specific areas of expertise, including the role (and success) of innovation in Government – particularly from our SME perspective – and the associated positive impacts in terms of enhancing value and security.
Unsurprisingly, much of the discussion centred on AI, and the paradox it offers between being a business enabler – and likely highly transformational – but at the same time enabling malign activity at an unprecedented scale and level of sophistication. As threats to data become more and more pervasive, there is a commensurate need for secure data infrastructure; and solutions to data problems need to be secure by design and recognise that AI tools, although equally applicable to both sides, favour attackers unfettered by rules and regulations.
With a large number of cyber security service providers present, we were delighted that we were able to offer different perspectives and lessons from the point of view of building enterprise scale data infrastructure securely, and the role that secure, rapidly deployable, and bespoke architecture plays in the value chain.
